Brett Easton Ellis

Bret Easton Ellis is an American novelist and cultural commentator best known for his transgressive, satirical portraits of wealth, privilege and moral emptiness in late-20th-century America. Rising to prominence with Less Than Zero, Ellis became a defining voice of the so-called “Brat Pack” of 1980s writers.

His most infamous novel, American Psycho, sparked international controversy for its graphic violence and biting social satire, cementing his reputation as a fearless and polarising literary figure. Other notable works include The Rules of Attraction, Glamorama and Lunar Park, many of which blur the line between fiction, autobiography and metafiction.
