Julie Hiner grew up immersed in books and 80s rock, developing an early love for storytelling alongside science, maths and English. After earning a degree in computer science from the University of Calgary, she spent over a decade working on large-scale network systems.
During a career break, Julie completed a non-fiction book about confronting fear and anxiety while cycling through the European mountains, which led her to pursue fiction. Fascinated by the psychology of serial killers, she now writes dark crime and horror, with two books in her 80s metal murder series and several short stories published in various collections.
